Below is a map of our proposed trip, which starts in Longyearbyen (green line). From there, we proceed north to Hinlopenstretet, where, depending on ice and weather conditions, we either proceed around the outskirts of Nordaustlandet (red line; this would be a FIRST for any kayak expedition), or take a short-cut as shown by the blue line. Once our trip gets underway, a real-time black line will show our progress.
